[SN O017209] USED FENDER JAPAN / PB57-53 2-Tone Sunburst Modified [03]
Fender is, of course, the undisputed pioneer of the electric bass.
Fender Japan has a long and rich history, and this particular instrument represents that era.
Based on the serial number, this instrument appears to have been manufactured between 1997 and 2000. It is a PB57-53 model featuring a two-tone sunburst finish, a maple fingerboard, and specifications faithful to the 1950s era.
Although the pickups have been replaced with Duncan Designed models, the sound is as rugged as its appearance suggests.
As expected for its age, it shows signs of heavy use, with scratches and dents visible throughout the body and neck.
Currently, the truss rod is tightened, and it functions normally when both tightened and loosened, though there is little remaining travel in the tightening direction.
As mentioned earlier, in addition to the numerous scratches and dents, the tuners show signs of tarnish.
Additionally, the tuning pegs are somewhat stiff.
