[SN 9515] USED VANZANDT / PBV-R2 Burgundy Mist [03]
Vanzandt is a Japanese brand that draws inspiration from vintage designs to deliver high-quality sound. Their instruments, which perfectly embody the "Neo Vintage" aesthetic, continue to be supported by a wide range of users, both professional and amateur.
The PBV-R2, a standard Precision Bass-style model from Vanzandt, has just arrived. From what I’ve gathered, the Burgundy Mist color appears to be less common than options like Sunburst, making this a somewhat rare find.
The materials include an alder body with an ultra-thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish, a maple neck, and an Indian rosewood fingerboard. The fingerboard radius is 210mm, giving it a relatively flat profile. Additionally, the pickups and capacitors are mounted using the company’s own proprietary components. Their attention to detail is evident throughout, including in the other parts.
The sound is characterized by a thick, sticky midrange while maintaining a pure and quick response. The attack is incredibly powerful, resulting in a guitar that cuts through the band’s ensemble with ease and makes its presence known. The sustain in the high frequencies is also vivid. It will surely demonstrate its full potential even during chord playing.
There is some discoloration on the parts, two small dents on the back of the body, and a few faint scratches and minor paint chips scattered throughout. While there are signs of use in various places—such as the strap pins having been replaced with Jim Dunlop-style locking pins—it is still in relatively good condition.
A Preb-style bass that’s ready to rock right out of the box! If this is what you’ve been looking for, please give it a try!
