[SN L54143] USED Fender / 1965 Jazzmaster Candy Apple Red [05]

[SN L54143] USED Fender / 1965 Jazzmaster Candy Apple Red [05]

A 1965 Fender Jazzmaster in Candy Apple Red has arrived!!

Fender’s Jazzmaster model was born in 1958 to rival G Company, which had become the dominant force in the jazz music scene at the time. It features a newly developed body shape, as well as switches and a tremolo unit inspired by the surf music of the era.

This is a 1965 model with serial number L54143 and neck date 4SEP65B.

The body is the original Candy Apple Red. The patina, dents, and scratches all combine to create a great vintage vibe. The matching headstock is also a standout feature. The neck and body have been adjusted using shims.

Pot dates are Volume: 137-6451, Tone: 304-6530. The preset knobs for both Tone and Volume are not visible, but based on the solder and other details, we have determined they are original.

The pickups are original Gray Bobbin models. The dates on both the front and rear pickups are faint and difficult to read, but I’ve determined that both are original. Rubber has been added to the underside of the pickups.

All other electronics are also original. There is some slight crackling from the pots, but since they are original parts, we have left them as is.

The body has some cracks near the screws, but this does not currently pose a problem. Additionally, the original pickguard has warped and cracked due to aging; while it is generally cracked and warped, this does not affect its functionality.

Replaced parts include the nut, frets, toggle switch knobs, and saddle set screws; however, the electronics remain in their original condition.

Regarding the condition, there are scratches and dents commensurate with its age, as well as sticker residue on the back of the body, but there are no major issues overall. The frets are quite worn, but there is plenty of truss rod adjustment left, and playability is currently good.

Jazz Masters have been seeing a significant rise in value in recent years. Please take this opportunity to consider this instrument.
