[SN 179] USED Phantom FX / MOTHER+ Fuzz [09]
This is the extra-gain version of the “MOTHER” fuzz pedal from the newly launched Phantom fx, which has already gained a loyal following.
A + (Plus) control has been added inside the unit to adjust the amount of distortion. Combined with the Saturation control on the front panel, this allows you to control the distortion level in two stages.
When the + control is set to its minimum, the distortion level is nearly identical to that of the standard MOTHER; when set to its maximum, the gain increases significantly, resulting in a perceptible 40–50% increase in distortion.
While the sense of harmonic richness—similar to a presence boost—is reduced only slightly, this version is ideal for those seeking a compressed, dense distortion tone with strong sustain.
Conversely, if you prefer an open distortion sound for chord work or a sparkling harmonic quality, we recommend the standard MOTHER.
* A faint "rustling" noise may be heard at low volumes only when the + control is adjusted; this is a normal characteristic of the unit.
Externally, there are scattered minor scratches and dirt from normal use, but this does not affect performance.
