USED YAMAHA / SB1200S Combined Stain [11]

USED YAMAHA / SB1200S Combined Stain [11]

The "SB1200S," the top-of-the-line model in Yamaha's SB series, which debuted in the late 1970s.
Featuring a through-neck construction, this instrument embodies the pinnacle of Japanese craftsmanship from that era.

By combining a maple and mahogany through-neck with a nato body, it achieves both long sustain and tight, well-defined bass. Its clear, well-defined tone contrasts with the rich character of the company’s BB series, allowing it to cut through even in an ensemble.

While opinions were divided at the time due to its unique body shape and slightly hard-edged sound, it is now being re-evaluated as a "connoisseur’s choice" among Japanese vintage guitars thanks to its high level of craftsmanship. The smooth playability and stable resonance unique to the through-neck design are also major attractions.
There is overall fading. The finish on the sides of the body appears cloudy.
Additionally, there are some minor scratches and dents, and it shows moderate signs of use.
The neck has a slight bow toward the G-string side and is slightly twisted. The frets have been leveled, and there are currently no issues with playability.
The truss rod is currently difficult to adjust.
