[SN N084642] USED Fender Japan / JM66-80 3-Tone Sunburst [12]

[SN N084642] USED Fender Japan / JM66-80 3-Tone Sunburst [12]

We’ve just received a Jazzmaster from the early 1990s Fender Japan era.
The Jazzmaster was popular in the 1960s for surf music and gained a following in the 1990s among grunge and alternative rock fans.

Featuring an asymmetrical offset body that provides stability even when held while seated, this model is equipped with larger single-coil pickups, offering a rich, full-bodied sound and a beautiful clean tone.

With an alder body, a Strat-style long scale, a rosewood fingerboard, a floating tremolo, and a combination of Alnico single-coil pickups, this versatile model allows for instant tone changes via a preset switch.

It handles a wide range of styles, from surf music to fuzz-driven roars.
The "springy feel" of the unique floating tremolo—which can also be locked in the up position—combined with the single-coil pickups creates a tone unlike any other guitar.

The pickups have been replaced with Seymour Duncan SJM-2N/SJM-3B models, and the bridge has been replaced with a Nashville-style bridge.
Overall, there is significant damage, including scratches, dents, and peeling paint, and the metal parts have a dull finish.
The frets have been filed down and have about 5% of their original height remaining; the neck is in good condition, and the truss rod is adjustable.
The tremolo arm is missing.
