[SN S9963494] USED Fender / 1980-81 Stratocaster International Color Cathay Ebony [05]
Serial: S963494, large head from the period when serial numbers were marked on the head, manufactured around October 1980, and one of the International Color series from 1981.
It has the characteristics of International Color with a heavy ash body, one-piece maple neck, Cathay Ebony color with matching white pickguard, back panel, and black screws. International color has been available since 1981, but this unit was manufactured after October 1980. However, there is no evidence that the PG has been replaced, and based on the overall judgment including the black screws, we have determined that it was manufactured in 1980 and shipped in the international color around 1981.
The pickups are gray bobbins dated 1980, and one of the 2 POTs is dated 1980, although solder is not visible. The capacitors are also original. The middle tone POT has solder on the other part, so there is a high possibility that a condenser was added, but it has been put back.
The neck has had the paint removed from the fingerboard when the frets were changed. There are other jacks that have been replaced.
There are some dents and scratches, and the paint on the end of the body is peeling due to softening, and the paint is dripping, but the playability is good.
The original arm, bridge fence, booklet and inspection tag are included.
Please take a look at this opportunity.
