An acoustic guitar featuring a gloss-finished body and the highly acclaimed Atomosfeel pickup system!
A new model featuring a gloss finish (body) for an enhanced sense of luxury!
Combining the aesthetics of the 1960s with skilled craftsmanship honed over more than 50 years
Equipped with the newly developed "Atmosfeel" pickup system. It allows you to faithfully reproduce the acoustic guitar's airy quality and natural resonance through the line output.
Yamaha’s original folk body shape offers excellent playability for players who prefer a compact body. Its well-defined, full-bodied sound is ideal for responsive chord strumming and fingerpicking.
Through repeated refinements utilizing proprietary scalloped bracing and the latest acoustic analysis simulation technology, we have achieved an ideal warm tone and rich low-end
The top features solid Sitka spruce treated with A.R.E. for a mature, well-seasoned sound reminiscent of a guitar played for many years
The fingerboard, bridge, and bridge pins are made of ebony.
A Made in Japan model set up by skilled technicians
Hard case included

<Yamaha's Traditional V-Shaped Headstock>
It inherits the original Yamaha FG headstock shape and features a logo modeled after a tuning fork. The truss rod cover is engraved with "Since 1966," signifying the origins of Yamaha guitars.

<SOLID Sitka spruce Top>
The body top is crafted from solid Sitka spruce treated with A.R.E. This achieves a rich resonance that sounds as if the guitar has been played for years, even though it is brand new.
The well-balanced sound is ideal for chord strumming or rhythmic fingerstyle playing.

<Solid Mahogany Sides and Back>
Solid mahogany is used for the sides and back. This delivers the warm, rich midrange characteristic of mahogany.

<Cowbone Nut and Saddle>
The nut and saddle are made of cowbone (Grade #5 only). Cowbone is extremely hard, enabling more effective sound transmission from the strings to the neck and body.
Installing and adjusting a cowbone nut requires a high level of technical skill, so each guitar is carefully crafted one by one in Japan by skilled guitar craftsmen.

<Proprietary Scalloped Bracing>
Aiming to achieve an ideal, warm tone, we have refined this design through a combination of virtual prototyping using the latest acoustic analysis simulation technology and physical prototypes crafted from wood.
Compared to the scalloped bracing used in the FG/FS#800 series, we have optimized this design to match the characteristics of the wood itself and the specific models of the FG and FS series, achieving further expansion of the low-frequency range.

<A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) Treatment>
The top panel features Yamaha’s proprietary Acoustic Resonance Enhancement (A.R.E.) treatment.
By precisely controlling temperature, humidity, and atmospheric pressure, we induce changes in the wood over a short period that mimic the natural aging process occurring over many years after the wood is cut. This improves sound transmission and vibration efficiency, promoting the extension of mid-to-low frequencies while enhancing the attack of high frequencies and accelerating their decay.The A.R.E. treatment produces a well-balanced, mature, and warm sound with minimal harsh overtones, creating a tone reminiscent of a guitar that has been played for years.

<Equipped with the newly developed "Atmosfeel" pickup system>
The newly developed Atmosfeel 3-way pickup system features an under-saddle piezo sensor for the mid-low range, a microphone built into the preamp for the low range, and a proprietary ultra-thin contact sensor for the high range—three distinct pickups that reliably capture each frequency range.

<Simple and User-Friendly Controller>
The "Atmosfeel" controller allows you to blend the signals from each pickup with extremely simple controls, making it easy to shape your sound.
Use the master volume knob to fine-tune subtle tonal nuances, and the mic blend knob to add body resonance. The Bass EQ controller allows you to adjust the peak EQ settings.
