[SN 430821] USED Martin / D-18 SQ [1981 Vintage] Martin Acoustic Guitar D18 [08]
The D-1, the predecessor to the D-18, was manufactured in 1931, leading to the birth of the 12-fret joint model D-18.
In 1934, the 14-fret joint model became the standard, just as it is today, and together with the D-28, it would lead the Martin guitar line.
This particular guitar was made in 1981 at the Nazareth factory in the USA.
The all-solid dreadnought body features spruce for the top and mahogany for the sides and back.
It features non-scalloped X bracing and a rosewood bridge.
The mahogany neck (SQ rod) has a nut width of just under 43mm and a 25.4" long scale, with a rosewood fingerboard.
* The tuning machines have been replaced with Gotoh hardware.
* The frets have been replaced, and the nut and saddle are also believed to have been replaced.
Maintained by a renowned guitar workshop!
Fingerboard delamination repaired, bridge delamination corrected, back brace delamination fixed, body side (6-string side) glued/crack prevention applied.
Overall, it's covered in fine weather checking, giving it a vintage presence.
The pickguard edge lifts slightly in some areas, but this does not currently cause any issues.
Exhibits age-appropriate dings, scratches, repair marks, part replacement traces, and natural finish aging.
While showing signs of use and aging, playability remains excellent.
This is an attractive instrument with rich sustain and a pleasant chord feel!
It has a rich midrange, but the contours are well defined, and the sound is clear and distinct, as you would expect from a Martin!
Product Rank: B: Significant scratches and signs of use, but no problems for normal use.
