USED GRETSCH / 1950s Broadcastar Nameband No. 4157 [08]

USED GRETSCH / 1950s Broadcastar Nameband No. 4157 [08]

Rare 1950s Original "Broadcaster" Snare Drum

Featuring a 3-ply shell from the 1950s—before the transition to 6-ply—paired with a Gretsch drum name band and double-flanged hoops
is the original "Broadcaster" model, which is still being reissued today.
This particular drum features a silver interior and is believed to have been manufactured in the late 1950s.
With its classic 14x5.5-inch size and 8-lug configuration, paired with brass double-flanged hoops,
delivers a controlled decay that is typically Gretsch—moderately tight with a solid attack, yet with a mild overall impression.
You can enjoy the unique sound that is characteristic of vintage Gretsch.

The color is White Marine Pearl, and there is overall discoloration.
It appears to be nearly original, but one tension bolt was incompatible, so it has been replaced with a slightly longer one.
The snare wire has been replaced with a 16-strand Kanopus model.

The microsensitive switch has become slightly loose; it may come loose and turn off when struck hard, but this is a common issue with vintage Gretsch guitars, and a complete fix would require replacing it with a current-production switch.
While there are signs of wear and tear commensurate with its age, the shell condition is fine, and the sound itself is excellent—you can enjoy the warm tone characteristic of this era.

This is a rare model from a generation that rarely appears on the market.
