2010 Custom Shop LTD 1960s Dove MOD Now in Stock!
The Gibson Custom Shop Limited Edition 1960s Dove has arrived.
The finish is Vintage Cherry Sunburst.
Modifications—including repairs for wood cracks, adjustments to lower the string height, and the installation of an LR Baggs pickup system—were professionally performed, resulting in a high-quality, player-ready guitar in excellent condition.
Crack Location
Location: A crack less than 4.5 cm long near the shoulder on the body side of the 6th string.
Work performed: A thin maple veneer was crafted and inserted into the crack to reinforce the entire area and prevent further splitting.
MOD
1: Extending the string grooves on each bridge pin: The string grooves on the top of the bridge were extended to improve string tension relative to the ABR-1 bridge saddle when the string height is lowered.
2: Replaced bridge pins with brass ones.
3: Addition of a strap button to the neck heel.
4: Installation of the L.R. Baggs LYRIC Acoustic Microphone System.
Condition
This instrument is entering its 16th year of use.
While there are signs of wear and some damage from years of use, it is in excellent condition overall.
There is a crack in the finish of less than 4 cm on the book-matched section of the back, but it does not appear to have reached the wood.
Since this is an area where the center strip is glued to the interior, it may not have any adverse effects.
There are some scratches, dents, and dings, but there is no severe damage. The finish retains its beautiful luster, and the instrument is in excellent condition.
