[SN 91921020] USED Gibson / J-160E Vintage Sunburst [11]

[SN 91921020] USED Gibson / J-160E Vintage Sunburst [11]

The 1991 J-160E carries on the distinctive style that epitomized the Gibson sound of the Beatles era.
Featuring a round-shouldered body and magnetic pickups, it delivers the rich, distinctive sound unique to the J-160E—a tone that bridges the gap between acoustic and electric.

Its sound is characterized by a compressed tone when strummed and a rich midrange when amplified, making it a standout choice for everything from solo performances to band ensembles. Known for its association with the Beatles, this is one of Gibson’s flagship electro-acoustic models.
This guitar was previously equipped with an L.R. Baggs Element pickup and has a history of control wiring modifications. It has been restored to its original magnetic pickup configuration.
String grounding has been added to reduce noise.

The back bracing on the innermost string (1st string) has been repaired. There is paint cracking at the joint between the neck and the top on the 6th string side.
There is a crack near the 6th string side of the soundhole. It has been filled with adhesive to secure it.
There is a crack on the body top next to the fingerboard on the 1st string side. This area shows signs of previous patch repairs; while some reinforcement material has been applied near the soundhole, there is no reinforcement spanning the crack at the edge of the soundhole. Instead, reinforcement material has been applied to the back of the pickguard, following the line of the crack.

Due to the pickup height, the output is slightly low.

There is paint peeling, weather checking, and dents with scratches and chipped paint throughout the body, indicating signs of use.
No noticeable issues are visible on the neck, though the frets are low—though they can still be filed down. There are currently no issues with playability.
