John Cruz joined Fender in 1986. He started his career at Fender in 1986 as a floor sweeper, and learned the difference in neck shape from Harvey Castellum, a legend of final sanding of necks.
In 2003, he was promoted to Master Builder. In 2003, he was promoted to Master Builder and single-handedly took charge of Stevie Ray Vaughan's Nomber One Stratocaster, limited to 100 pieces, which was produced the following year.
John Crews, who has the highest level of skill and experience in the relic process among the builders, has just received a rare one that he worked on in 2010!
Based on a 1957 Stratocaster, this guitar has an alder body and maple neck.
The neck shape is a soft V shape, which is typical of this era, and 21 vintage frets are installed.
The fingerboard is scalloped.
The body color is "Fiesta Red".
The body color is "Fiesta Red", and the elbow cut has some scratches and dents as if the guitar had been played hard.
The overall appearance has scratches and dents as if it has been heavily played. The relic work has been done by the builder with his outstanding skills.
Three original black bobbin type single coil pickups are installed on the PU.
The pickups are made by "Abigail Ibarra," who has created many hand-wound pickups for over 50 years from the time she joined the company in 1958 until her retirement in 2013.
You can experience the withered sound of vintage guitars with this pickup.
Controls are master volume, front PU tone, center PU & rear PU tone, which is easy to use even today.
The condition of the guitar is very difficult to identify because it has been heavily reliced throughout, but there are some scratches that seem to have appeared afterwards.
The center pickup has been rewired once.
