[SN 83090610] USED GIBSON USA / Les Paul Standard Cherry Sunburst 1980 [03]
* We have determined that it was made in 1980 based on the serial number and other specifications.
The body has a 3-piece maple top and mahogany back, 3-piece maple neck, and rosewood fingerboard, standard specs seen since the late 70s.
The back of the neck has a volute, which is typical of this era, and the neck shape has a thin grip.
The sticker "Authorized Instrument NIHON GIBSON" is still attached on the back of the head.
Original Schaller flower engraved pegs are installed.
Two original engraved numbered PAF pickups are installed.
There are some signs of solder re-soldering inside the cavity. DC resistance of both front and rear pickups is approximately 7.4k.
The maple neck gives it a 70s sound with a sense of attack.
The pots on this guitar are also considered to be the original ones from the pot dates.
Volume pot: 1378017 x 2 Tone pot: 1378011 x 2
As for the condition, there are many scratches, dents, and scuff marks throughout. There are also some white stains on the back of the body.
There are also paint cracks on the neck binding, bumps due to thinning of the neck binding, and peeling of the paint on the back of the neck.
Other than the above, the nut, frets, control knobs, etc. appear to be original, but the toggle switch cap has been replaced.
The toggle switch cap has been replaced, and some of the screws for the escutcheon screws have been broken off.
The frets have been worn out and there is about 50% remaining.
As for the accessories, the case is a non-genuine hard case only.
Although there is a sense of use commensurate with the age of the instrument, it remains in relatively clean condition, and there are no problems with the playing surface.
It is a 1980 Les Paul Standard that still retains the atmosphere of the late 70s!
It is one of the few original Les Pauls with only a few replacement parts!
The price of 80s Les Pauls has been gradually rising in recent years, so please consider this as a good opportunity to buy one!
