[SN AM0167] USED FENDER CUSTOM SHOP / Master Built 1961 Stratocaster Journeyman Relic Fiesta Red by Austin MacNutt [03]
Austin MacNutt enrolled in the Guitar Craft Academy in Hollywood after graduating from high school. His talent was recognized and he was offered a position as an instructor immediately after the course. A few years later, he met Ron Thorn at an inlay seminar and was soon offered a job with Thorn Guitars. Austin built boutique electric guitars under the Thorn brand for 11 years. Austin did everything from lumber selection, machining, CNC operations, fret work, and final assembly, and now works at the Fender Custom Shop building guitars.
The 2-piece Off-Center Alder body is coated with Medium Tint Nitrocellulose Lacquer and the Plain Grain Maple neck is coated with Nitrocellulose Lacquer.
Flat Lam AAA Rosewood fingerboard with a 7.25 radius fingerboard.
The neck shape is "60 Style Oval "C"", and the guitar is finished with a high degree of perfection, retaining a vintage flavor and ensuring playability.
The body color is "Fiesta Red".
The entire body is decorated with "Journeyman Relic", and weather checks, dents, and scratches are reproduced, giving it a look as if it has been played for a long time.
Three original "Hand-Wound 60s Strat" pickups are installed.
The pickups are hand-wound by Josefina Campos, a master pickup winder.
The controls are "Strato Modern Use" and the tone can be adjusted for the rear pickup.
The head logo has been partially chipped off.
The head logo has been partially shaved off, but it is difficult to distinguish scratches and other marks as the guitar has been "Journeyman Relic" applied, but there are few scratches that seem to have been added after the fact.
The head is in beautiful condition as it was made in 2023.
This is a valuable piece by Austin McNutt, who is one of the most notable builders in the future, and has a different sensibility from the more established builders!
This is one of the rare pieces produced by Austin McNutt, and we hope you will take this opportunity to purchase it!
