True to its name, the McCarty 594 is a new model introduced by Paul Reed Smith in 2016, featuring a unique 24.594-inch scale length. Its most distinctive feature is undoubtedly this scale length.The model name "594" originates from this, featuring a unique 24.594" (approx. 624.69mm) scale length. It's shorter than the 25-inch scale found on many PRS models, yet slightly longer than the 24.5-inch medium scale used on models like the SC245, delivering a distinctive tension and sound.
The body back uses slightly thicker mahogany than the Custom models, while the neck is also mahogany. The neck profile adopts the new 'Pattern Vintage'.Based on the Pattern neck profile, it maintains the same width but incorporates a slightly thicker profile, with the treble side slightly tapered and the bass side slightly thicker, resulting in an "asymmetric curve" shape.
