[SN R56742] USED FENDER CUSTOM SHOP / Team Build Custom 1962 Stratocaster Old Lake Placid Blue [03]

[SN R56742] USED FENDER CUSTOM SHOP / Team Build Custom 1962 Stratocaster Old Lake Placid Blue [03]

We’ve just received a used 2010 Fender Custom Shop Team Build Custom 1962 Stratocaster in Old Lake Placid Blue!
The "Team Build Custom" series consists of non-catalog custom models ordered by dealers and other retailers; it has since transitioned to the "Custom Build Series."
The guitar we’ve just received is one that Ishibashi Gakki ordered to specific specifications in 2010.
Supervised by Paul Waller—who was promoted to Master Builder that year—this is a stunning guitar based on the 1962 Strat, featuring the "Old Lake Placid Blue" finish that evokes the atmosphere of a vintage Strat.

It features a two-piece alder body, a maple neck with a sun-faded finish, and a slab-jointed rosewood fingerboard.
The fingerboard has a 7.25" radius and is equipped with 21 vintage-style narrow frets.
The neck shape is a C-shape with a moderate thickness, common in early 1960s models, providing a comfortable grip that fits naturally in the hand.

The body is finished in "Old Lake Placid Blue."
This shade has a slightly faded appearance compared to the popular Lake Placid Blue, giving it a sophisticated look.
The entire guitar is finished with a "Relic" finish, which, combined with the color, gives it the appearance of a vintage Strat that has been played for many years.

It is equipped with original black-bobbin pickups.
While the front pickup has been rewound, the middle and rear pickups are hand-wound by pickup craftsman Abigail Ibara.
It retains the responsiveness and brightness of a single-coil pickup while delivering a powerful, edgy sound.
The controls consist of a master volume, front pickup tone, and middle pickup tone.

As for the condition, it is difficult to assess due to the relic finish, but there are several scratches and dents across the body that appear to have been added later, and there is a dent visible on the side of the fingerboard.
There are also marks resembling paint stains on the neck side, and the headstock logo has some peeling.
As mentioned above, the front pickup has been rewound.
The included tremolo arm shows signs of white rust, and the case has some discoloration.
Replaced parts include the volume pot and jack.
While there are signs of wear, the original character remains intact, making this a guitar with great character.

This is a rare custom model supervised by Paul Waller, who later became a Master Builder!
Please take this opportunity to consider purchasing it!!
