McCarty
It’s no exaggeration to call the McCarty series the cornerstone of Paul Reed Smith. Paying homage to Ted McCarty, a giant in the world of electric guitars, the McCarty models embody PRS’s latest innovations and look back on the golden age of guitar.
Body, Neck, and Fingerboard
The body features a classic combination of a flamed maple top, mahogany back, and mahogany neck. The fingerboard is made of Indian rosewood.
Unusually for PRS, this model does not feature bird inlays.
Neck Shape
The neck shape is "Wide Fat." With moderate thickness, it offers a comfortable grip without feeling unwieldy.
Pickups
It is equipped with two "57/08" pickups, designed to deliver PRS’s signature vintage sound. Inspired by 1957 humbuckers, these pickups use Alnico II magnets to produce a sound that is both modern and classic. The tone is exceptionally easy to work with.
PRS has long been loved by guitarists across various genres. You’re sure to experience maximum performance in a wide range of settings, including live shows, sessions, and recording.
Condition
There is some fading of the finish and a few dents on the body top, and the clear coat on the sides of the fingerboard is peeling in places. There are also scattered minor dents and scratches, showing signs of use. The neck, frets, truss rod, and all other playability-related components are in perfect working order.
Additionally, upon arrival, the guitar underwent a full adjustment and cleaning at our repair center, so you can use it with confidence.
