[SN S017395] USED FENDER JAPAN (pre-2015) / ST62-65AS Mod. (1994) 3-Tone Sunburst [04]
We have received a modified version of the Fender Japan / ST62-65AS 3-Tone Sunburst, created to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Stratocaster.
Based on the 1962 specification, this model features a "Photo-Flam" neck with a printed flame pattern and a joint plate featuring the original design from the 40th anniversary commemorative models.
The main modifications are as follows:
ă»Pickup replacement (Pure Vintage '56 Stratocaster Pickup)
ă»Replacement of pots (CTS), selector switch (OAK), capacitors (Luxe ZNW1P1 Chiclet), and wiring
ă»Shielding inside the cavity
ă»Matte finish applied only to the back of the neck
There are burn marks on the headstock, and there is a touch-up of chipped paint near the left side of the neck serial number.
Additionally, although the details are unclear, it appears the wood around the bottom two screw holes securing the back panel had cracked, and this has been repaired.
The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod is functioning properly.
The frets have likely been recently leveled; while the current height is on the low side, there is no muting or other issues, and the instrument is fully playable as is.
A non-original tweed case and a tremolo arm are included.
