We’ve just received a used 2017 Heavy Relic 1969 Stratocaster featuring a humbucker pickup in the bridge position!
The Stratocaster debuted in 1954 after numerous refinements based on feedback from many musicians following the success of the Telecaster. Having undergone many specification changes, this particular model features the so-called "large headstock."
Body: Alder
The neck is made of quarter-sawn maple
Frets: SANKO 6105
Headstock: Large Head
Tuners: Kluson "F" Key
Neck shape: 1969 "U"
Neck joint: 4-point joint
Pickups: SSH configuration, with the front: HW FAT ST 60s
Middle: HW FAT ST 60s RWRP
Rear: Seymour Duncan SH4B Jeff Beck
Controls: 1 Volume / 2 Tone / 5-way switch
The rear pickup reproduces Jeff Beck’s Telecaster-style sound; it offers plenty of output and delivers not only great drive tones but also a clean, crisp sound.
As for overall wear, since it’s a heavy relic finish, it’s hard to tell, but given that the frets show little wear, it appears to have been used infrequently.
The neck is currently straight.
The truss rod has been tested and confirmed to function in both directions.
