Stephen Marchione is one of the world's top guitar luthiers, and has worked with John Suhr and Masanobu Hino at Pensa Suhr Guitars, a brand of Rudy's Music, a long-established music store in New York City, where he acquired the know-how of high-end guitar making from the legendary brand. He then went out on his own, and is currently based in Hughes, Texas. He then went out on his own and now has his own workshop in Houston, Texas.
He has built not only archtop and solid guitars, but also acoustic guitars, classical guitars, and even violins, and is considered a rare master craftsman because of his outstanding skills and uncompromising approach to manufacturing.
The sound is rich in sustain and has exceptional firmness and bounce. The pitch accuracy, quick response, rich dynamic range, and clear tone of this solid guitar are of a very high standard, and can truly be described as "this is Marchione.
