[SN CZ568952] USED Fender Custom Shop / 1961 Stratocaster Heavy Relic Super Faded/Aged 3 Tone Sunburst [05]
[SN CZ568952] USED Fender Custom Shop / 1961 Stratocaster Heavy Relic Super Faded/Aged 3 Tone Sunburst [05]
This model is based on a 1961-style Stratocaster with a thorough Heavy Relic treatment. The body is made of lightweight alder and heavily reliced with a lacquered 3-color sunburst finish to reproduce the look of a guitar that has been played for many years.
The neck is a combination of quarter-sawn maple and AAA grade rosewood slab fingerboard for an excellent balance of strength and sound.
The shape is a 60s Oval "C", the fingerboard radius is 9.5", and the frets are wider and more present with 6100 jumbo frets for modern playability with easy bending and vibrato. Vintage-inspired details such as bone nut, clay-dot-style micarta, and relic '60s decals are found throughout.
The hardware is vintage-style, with the bridge, saddle, pegs, jack, neck plate, and pickguard all finished in a brick finish, keeping true to the '60s vibe, but with real-world stability in the configuration.
All pickups are three Hand?Wound Texas Specials. They have a powerful, edgy midrange and attack with a strong presence, and have a more modern, drive-oriented sound character that does not fit into the 60's Strat frame.
The knobs and switch tips are also vintage-white and have a uniform vintage-white, brick-like appearance. All in all, this is a "superb 61 Strat" that combines the vintage feel and modern playability with a high degree of perfection that only the Fender Custom Shop can deliver.
The price of a new Heavy Relic is now over 1,000,000 yen, and the used market is also on the rise. Considering such a situation, this is a very reasonable price, even though it is a beautiful item with all accessories.
