[SN R103927] USED Fender Custom Shop / Master Built Series 1963 Stratocaster Heavy Relic Black Paisley by Jason Smith [05]

The Fender Custom Shop / Master Built 1963 Stratocaster Heavy Relic Black Paisley by Jason Smith is now in stock, used!!

Jason Smith, the prodigal son of Fender, is the son of Dan Smith, the man who conceived the Smith Strat.Having grown up surrounded by Fender guitars, he eventually joined the company himself. He joined the Custom Shop in 1995, apprenticed under legendary builder John English for five years, and was promoted to Master Builder in 2006. He is one of the builders who most strongly embodies the Fender legacy.

This guitar has the serial number R103927 and was built in 2020.

It’s a cool guitar featuring a vibrant black paisley finish with Heavy Relic processing. A particularly eye-catching detail is that black paisley paper has been applied not only to the body but also to the pickguard.

The body is made of lacquer-finished alder, while the neck and fingerboard feature densely flamed maple. The fingerboard radius is 9.5 inches, ensuring excellent playability for fingering and changing chord positions. The neck has no string guides, and the tuning peg posts are uniquely designed with varying lengths (original). Although it is a '63 model, the maple neck gives it a unique feel characteristic of a Master Builder.

It is equipped with Josefina Hand-Wound pickups with black bobbins. Controls include a master volume, master tone, and a blender knob. When the pickup is in the rear position, turning this knob allows you to blend in the front pickup.

Regarding its condition, due to the relic finish, it is difficult to determine the origin of any scratches or marks, but it remains in relatively good condition. Of course, playability is excellent, including the truss rod.

Please consider this opportunity.
