[SN 751460] USED GIBSON CUSTOM / Historic Collection 1957 Les Paul Junior VOS TV Yellow [06]
[SN 751460] USED GIBSON CUSTOM / Historic Collection 1957 Les Paul Junior VOS TV Yellow [06]
Introduced in the late 1950s, the Les Paul Junior/Special was released as an affordable student model of the already popular Les Paul Standard and Custom.
Although this model features simpler specifications—such as a solid mahogany flat-top body that inherits the Les Paul shape, three-button tuners, and P-90 pickups—it has been favored by many musicians, including Keith Richards, John Lennon, Leslie West, Johnny Thunders, Billy Joe Armstrong, Masatoshi Majima, and many others.
Gibson Custom Shop continues to uphold this recipe in this Historic Reissue. From the solid mahogany and hide-glue construction to the vintage-style wiring, the classic Les Paul Junior is back.
The Les Paul-shaped body is made of solid mahogany, and the neck—featuring a thick, easy-to-grip '50s Rounded Medium C Profile—is crafted from solid mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard. It features a set neck with a long tenon and is glued using hide glue.
As a student model, this guitar features the "Gibson" logo and "Les Paul TV Model" silk-screened on the headstock, along with a single-ply truss rod cover and Kluson three-button tuners.
The binding-free neck features Pearloid dot inlays, resulting in a very simple design.
It is equipped with a single Custom Dogear P-90 pickup, and the 1-volume/1-tone controls use CTS pots, a Bumblebee replica capacitor, and a Switchcraft jack.
It is finished in TV Yellow—a color adopted in the 1950s to look good on television—with a VOS finish.
Aside from the VOS finish, there is no damage that appears to have been added later, and it is in relatively good condition.
It has been cleaned and fully adjusted since arrival.
