A satin lacquer relic finish—Eddie Van Halen’s iconic Frankenstein.
This is the EVH Van Halen Frankenstein Relic Series Maple Fingerboard, manufactured in 2023. It features a basswood body with direct-mounted Wolfgang pickups. While the control layout is, of course, a single volume knob, a knob labeled “Tone” has been intentionally included, just like on EVH’s own guitar. The EVH-branded Floyd Rose bridge is paired with an EVH D-Tuna, allowing for instant switching to drop D tuning.
We highly recommend this guitar for its user-friendly features, including the compound radius fingerboard (12 inches to 16 inches), where the radius gradually flattens toward the higher frets, and the wheel nut, which allows for easy truss rod adjustment.
Although there are some signs of original distressing and slight wear (scratches, wipe marks, picking marks, etc.), the overall condition is good.
It was set up upon arrival (cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, action adjustment, and fret leveling). The frets are at a height suitable for playing, and the truss rod is loosened, with the neck in good condition.
