Gene Baker boasts a diverse career in guitar making, having headed the custom shops for both Gibson and Fender, as well as D’Angelico.Based on the specifications of the USA SL Model, the Made in Japan SL-K is a collaboration with Yoshiyuki Kikuchi. It features a maple top, mahogany back, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, medium scale, original humbucker, 2-volume/2-tone (pull-coil split) controls, a 3-way selector switch, and GOTOH tuners and bridge.
Following in the footsteps of the SL series—which can be considered the origin of b3 Guitars—this is a hybrid model combining LP and ST styles.
Signs of use (scratches, wipe marks, picking marks, tarnish, pitting, and rust on metal parts and screws, etc.) are visible.
Set up upon arrival (cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, string height adjustment, and fret leveling). The frets are at a height suitable for playing, and the truss rod has been checked up to 60 degrees in both directions and is in good condition.
