Among the various Custom models—such as the '54, '57, and '68—this is not a vintage-style model but a modern-spec Les Paul Custom. Unlike the '54 and '57 models, the body features a classic maple top and mahogany back. The neck is, of course, mahogany, and the fingerboard is now made of ebony!It is equipped with two so-called "stamped humbuckers," with the patent numbers engraved on the back. The DC resistance values are approximately 8.1k on the neck side and 13.5k on the bridge side, so it is likely a combination of the '490R' and '498T' pickups.
The pickguard has fine picking scratches all over it. The body features authentic weather checking throughout, giving it a fantastic vintage look. There are dents of varying sizes under the bridge, and the outer edges of the body are dotted with scuff marks and small dents. There is a linear scratch on the lower right side of the body, and yellowing from a stand is visible on both sides of the strap pins at the end.
