[SN J024583] USED Fender Japan / ST54-900 Tobacco Sunburst [11]
Manufactured in 1991 during the so-called Fujigen era, this is a high-end model from the ST54 series. The neck stamp "2-19-91" and the pot dates (Front Tone: R1379101 / Center Tone: R1379046) confirm that it was made in that year. The serial number is J024583.
Although a "ST54-90" stamp is visible on the body, in accordance with the catalog notation from 1991, we refer to this instrument as the ST54-900.
Featuring an alder body with a lacquer finish and a one-piece maple neck, this is a classic 1954-spec guitar. The vintage-like feel, including the soft V-shaped neck profile and 7.25R fingerboard radius, is another highlight of this model. Combined with the electronics—which feature USA-made vintage-style pickups and CTS pots—it produces a clear, focused tone characteristic of a Stratocaster.
In addition to the high-precision assembly characteristic of the Fujigen era, this guitar allows you to enjoy the unique resonance and aging characteristics of the lacquer finish, making it a model of superior quality even among domestic production models of that time.
Featuring specifications that rank among the top of the ST54 series, this model successfully balances practicality and vintage aesthetics at a high level.
The fingerboard has been refinished.
The lacquer finish at the body end shows signs of melting and peeling likely caused by a guitar stand.
Additionally, there are several paint chips on the body side near the 6th string, and there are scattered scratches and dents throughout the body.
The pickguard has numerous playing scratches and warping due to age, and discoloration of the control knobs and tarnishing of the hardware are also visible.
There is some paint peeling at the 2nd fret due to an impact mark, but this does not affect playability.
There is no warping on the neck, but due to fret wear, the guitar may buzz when played loudly without amplification. The sound through an amplifier is considered acceptable.
