We’ve just received a 1975 ES-335.
This is a transitional-spec model from the first year of the maple 3-piece neck, featuring an ABR-1 bridge and the "MADE IN USA" engraving on the back of the headstock—a mark of the era before the text was printed as a decal.
The neck is a 3-piece maple, a narrow-neck model with a narrow nut width. It features a large hollow center block and a wider pickup cavity—characteristics of this transitional period—and is equipped with stamped, numbered pickups, resulting in a sound with enhanced airiness.
The tailpiece has been replaced from the original trapeze tailpiece to a stop tailpiece; the original screw holes have been filled, and the strap pin position has been altered.
The tuners, nut, and frets have been replaced, and the frets have over 70% of their original material remaining.
The neck is in good condition, and the truss rod is adjustable.
