★AZ-Pushing the boundaries / Ash-bodied AZ Model
Ash body, recessed-mount tremolo, SSH pickup configuration model
~AZ2204AG~
This 2026 model features an ash body known for its excellent sustain and balanced low- and high-frequency response, equipped with Seymour Duncan pickups—developed exclusively for the AZ model—mounted in an SSH configuration on the pickguard.
This is the first Prestige model to feature gold-colored hardware.
~Features~
Features an ash body with excellent low- and high-frequency response and rich sustain
An ergonomic body back contour
An original body shape designed with a contemporary aesthetic in mind.
The slim body contour and generous elbow contour create a sense of unity between the player and the guitar, significantly contributing to improved playability.
Additionally, the deep waist of the body ensures excellent handling when held or on stage, delivering exceptional playability.
The radius of the corners differs between the front and back of the body, creating an ergonomic design that provides a comfortable fit the moment you pick up the guitar, whether sitting or standing.
Super All Access Neck Joint
The "Super All Access" neck joint achieves high playability by featuring an 8mm step cut from the back of the body and a spherical finish at the neck joint.
The cutaway on the bass string side is designed to be shallow, maximizing the contact area between the body and the neck. This allows the guitar to maintain excellent playability while also delivering superb sustain and resonance.
AZ-Exclusive Oval C-Shaped S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple 1-Piece Neck
This original neck shape was developed after measuring and analyzing the neck grips of dozens of guitars, both from our own company and others.
The neck features a comfort grip with a gently tapered profile from the joint between the fingerboard and neck to the fingerboard edge, and a rounded fingerboard edge.
This shape is accurately and reliably reproduced through ball milling.
The shape is specifically designed to ensure a comfortable grip in the lower fret area and to facilitate classical-style playing—where the thumb rests on the back of the neck—as you move up to the higher frets.
Maple wood treated with "Estec," a nitrogen heating process, is used.
Estec-treated wood is characterized by dimensional stability, resistance to warping, water resistance, and resistance to temperature changes, and the technology is patented in Japan.
Additionally, the finish features an oil finish that gives it the texture of a well-played guitar neck.
S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple Fretboard with Stainless Frets
Designed to prevent muffled tones even during wide-range bending and to minimize stress on the fingers and hands during chord playing, this 305mmR fretboard was developed through repeated trial and error, incorporating multiple challenges—such as the combination with the neck—into several prototypes.
Luminlay Phosphorescent Side Dot Position Inlays
We’ve adopted 3.0mm-diameter phosphorescent dot position inlays that boast high visibility, helping you navigate rapidly changing performance environments caused by stage lighting.
You’ll never lose track of the notes you want to play, even on a dark stage.
Hyperion pickups, co-developed with Seymour Duncan
We acquired over dozens of different pickups and measured the frequency characteristics of every single one.
From these, we identified the specifications and sound profile considered optimal for the AZ, and through a collaboration with Seymour Duncan—a pickup brand synonymous with a long history and a commitment to innovation—we created a pickup exclusively for the AZ.
These custom pickups are designed with a slightly reduced output to retain the clarity of the original sound even when distorted, prioritizing picking response and reproducibility.
From treble to bass, and from the first string to the sixth, we prioritized overall balance and pursued excellent compatibility with effects.
All pickups feature Alnico-5 magnets.
dyna-MIX 9 switching system w/Alter switch
With a single flip of the mini-switch, you can freely switch between humbucker and single-coil modes, yielding nine different sound variations.
The neck and middle single-coil pickups are wired in series to simulate the sound of a 22-fret neck humbucker.
This switching system is ideal for today’s guitarists who must handle multiple roles with limited gear.
Ibanez T1802 tremolo bridge (manufactured by Gotoh) featuring titanium saddles
All parts except the titanium components are gold-colored. (Mount: Features a wide range of arm movement and is recessed into the body.)
This bridge is a collaboration between Ibanez and Gotoh, reimagining the Gotoh 510 bridge—widely regarded by many players and guitar brands as the definitive tremolo bridge.
Featuring precision-machined titanium saddles and a machined steel inertia block, this bridge delivers both a quick attack and a solid, fat tone, while also offering extended high-end clarity.
With a narrow 10.5mm string spacing design, it prioritizes ease of cross-string picking—a requirement for players who frequently use skipping and hybrid picking techniques.
Gotoh Magnum Lock machine heads with H.A.P. function for adjustable post height
Features Gotoh Magnum Lock machine heads, renowned for their tuning stability.
Equipped with the H.A.P. (Height Adjustable Post) mechanism, the post height can be adjusted to achieve the appropriate tension for each string.
Cowbone Nut
Features an oil-impregnated cowbone nut.
This provides the smooth glide of a nut that greatly contributes to tuning stability, while also delivering the resonance characteristic of vintage guitars.
